| Fused glass is the art of kiln forming glass, simply put. The artist selects from an assortment of art glass, cuts the glass to the desired shape and places it in the kiln to fuse together. After the kiln reaches approximately 1500 degrees the glass melts together. It is slowly cooled - annealed - to make sure the glass is tempered and it formed together to create a piece of art. It is then removed from the kiln and cold worked to make pendants, earrings, plates or any other of a myriad of glass objects of art. |
